Board of Health · Meeting of April 9, 2026
Egremont Board of Health reduces landfill well-monitoring funding request. Chairman Charles Ogden, Dr. William Rose, and Ellen Maggio unanimously approved prior minutes and revised the funding request for landfill monitoring wells and annual testing to $12,500, down from the original $18,000, after salvage of the second downgradient well revealed water at 13 feet.
Director Juliette Haas will seek approval at the May Annual Town Meeting, with construction on the third well targeted to begin in July 2026. The board reviewed a draft Short Term Rental General Bylaw and a microplastics reduction survey, and learned that the Select Board has set Director Haas's replacement position at 20 hours per week with benefits, to be advertised in July.
