Board of Health approves septic design, advances microplastics survey draft.
Board of Health · Meeting of April 23, 2026
Egremont Board of Health approves septic upgrade, refines microplastics survey. Chairman Charles Ogden, Dr. William Rose, and Ellen Maggio unanimously approved septic design plans from Accord Engineering for 113 Egremont Plain Road, with the leach field's 80-inch groundwater level meeting code separation requirements.
The Board requested revisions to a draft microplastics survey, asking member Ellen Maggio's suggestion for one survey per household and a voluntary signature line be incorporated before the next meeting. The third landfill monitoring well remains on track for early July drilling, while the Board awaits a design plan from Berkshire Engineering for the Town Hall PFAS treatment unit installation, with Ogden requesting completion by October.
