Egremont Historical Commission reduces demolition delay to six months.

Egremont Historical Commission votes to shorten demolition delay in preservation bylaw. Co-Chair Rebecca Turner moved to reduce the delay period from one year to six months; Co-Chair Alex Langshure seconded, and the motion passed 3 to 0, with Co-Chair Francis Nestor abstaining. Nestor reported that the Community Protection Act will make $340,000 available for projects once the Secretary of State approves, with 10 percent mandatory spending on historic preservation including buildings, objects, and environments.

The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for March 5.
