Egremont Green Committee approves plastic-ban exploration with TURI and BRPC support. Chair Emily Eyre and members heard a presentation from Jaymie Zapata on single-use plastic ban templates covering bags, bottles, polystyrene, and takeout items, with enforcement through the Board of Health. The committee approved a Water Department weatherization grant totaling approximately forty thousand dollars, with approximately thirty-one thousand dollars from the Green Communities grant and approximately nine thousand dollars from National Grid.
Upcoming events include an April 18 roadside cleanup, a May 16 hazardous waste collection day at the Great Barrington Transfer Station, and committee attendance at the March 24 Mass Recycle Conference in Boxborough.
