Green Committee approves March minutes, pursues recycling and food-waste initiatives.

Egremont Green Committee unanimously approved prior minutes and advanced a $1,500 Green Communities grant application targeting recycling and reuse. Juliette Haas will submit the application to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection by week's end; award notification is expected in November. Guest Stephanie Blumenthal updated the committee on a June 3 food-waste film screening of "Just Eat It" at the Triplex, including potential partnerships with Refed and local farmers on gleaning initiatives.
The committee agreed to explore expanding Egremont's $25 compost bin sales program to Sheffield and is developing a microplastics survey with the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, requesting member input by April 28.
