Housing Trust advances CPA funding push and rental bylaw overhaul
Egremont Municipal Housing Trust · Meeting of April 28, 2026
EGREMONT — Housing Trust Board advocates for consolidated CPA housing allocation. The Board agreed to seek 80 percent of Community Preservation Act funds as a single bucket grant, citing efficiency gains and elimination of repeated town meeting approvals for individual projects. Members also revised the short-term rental bylaw to cap rental nights at 150 days, exempt room rentals within owner-occupied homes, and remove waiting periods for rental conversions.
The revised bylaw language will be delivered to the Select Board by May 5 for inclusion on the June 10 town meeting warrant.
