Egremont Municipal Housing Trust · Meeting of March 2, 2026
Egremont Housing Trust backs short-term rental caps at 50 properties. The board voted 3 to 2 to approve a draft bylaw limiting nightly rentals to 90 per year, with current registrants grandfathered in under a two-year compliance window while new owners must comply immediately. Chairman Richard Stanley, Vice-Chairman Doug Mishkin, and Member Judi Goodman supported the measure; Members Mary Brazie and Evan Hardcastle opposed.
The board also voted unanimously to recommend that the Select Board accept a seasonal community designation. The bylaw requires passage of a contingent zoning ordinance.
