Housing Trust Board Advances Short-Term Rental Bylaw for June 29 Vote

Egremont Municipal Housing Trust · Meeting of June 9, 2026

EGREMONT — The Egremont Municipal Housing Trust Board refined short-term rental bylaw amendments for a June 29 special town meeting vote. Chair Richard Stanley and members Mary Brazie, Judi Goodman, Doug Mishkin, and Evan Hardcastle, meeting with Planning Board members John Lanterman and Mary McGurn, approved five prior meeting minutes and debated registration language for inactive rentals, corporate ownership of existing properties, and registration fee structure. The group added a non-transferability provision clarifying that registrations are personal to the registered owner, removed portions of the inactive rental definition, and incorporated "evolving needs" language into the bylaw's purpose statement.

Mary Brazie committed the revised warrant to the Select Board for signature and posting by Thursday morning.
