Egremont Housing Trust refines short-term rental bylaw for rescheduled town vote. Board members Richard Stanley, Judith Goodman, Mary Brazie, Doug Mishkin, and Evan Hardcastle (in person) and Sandra Martin, Richard Allen, and Rebecca Heidgerd (via Zoom) agreed to exempt attached units and ADUs on owner-occupied properties from a 150-night annual cap while requiring Massachusetts residency for future registrations. Board members debated balancing economic benefits for existing homeowners against preserving affordable housing for workforce families, with a 10 percent non-owner-occupied property cap to be calculated using state Department of Revenue data.
The next meeting is May 15 at 7 a.m. to review the latest draft.
