EGREMONT — Housing Trust examines proposed short-term rental bylaw and seasonal community designation. Planning Board Chair Mary McGurn presented zoning standards allowing short-term rentals by right in all districts with tiered parking requirements; Doug Mishkin outlined general bylaw changes raising the night cap from 90 to 150 days and capping total properties at 50. The Housing Trust enthusiastically supported the seasonal community designation, which would provide $80,000 in annual state funding and enable housing preferences for essential workers and artists.
The Planning Board will review public comments at a Friday meeting, with warrant publication targeted for May 22nd and possible special town meeting on June 10th.
