EGREMONT — Planning Board closes hearing on short-term rental zoning amendment without formal changes. Chair Mary McGurn walked the Board through a definition permitting short-term rentals by right in all districts, with site-based standards for off-street parking, vehicular circulation, and exterior lighting. Public comment centered on how the parking requirement--one space per bedroom plus one additional space--would apply to owner-occupied homes and non-cash temporary housing for performers; Board members John Lanterman, Donna Bersch-Gordon, and Eddie Regendahl expressed support for a waiver provision allowing the Planning Board to grant relief when full compliance is not reasonably feasible.
McGurn stated that noise regulation falls under a separate general bylaw and that questions about barter arrangements and enforcement require further review by Town Counsel and the Municipal Housing Trust.
