Select Board appoints three town employees to police and fire departments.

EGREMONT — Select Board unanimously approves three appointments to public safety. Police Chief Jason LaForest secured the appointment of Nicolas Langley as a full-time police officer effective May 1, 2026, after Langley passed the physical training test; Langley will enroll in a police academy in Marlborough beginning in June. Fire Chief Joe Schneider's recommendations for Nicole Miller as a volunteer EMT and Joseph Schneider Jr. as a junior volunteer firefighter were also approved unanimously.

The board discussed allocating $590,194 in available free cash to fund special town meeting articles.
