Select Board approves mattress fee increase, defers firearms certification request.

Select Board · Meeting of June 16, 2026

Egremont Select Board unanimously approved a mattress recycling fee increase and voted to keep election polling at Town Hall. Board of Health Director Juliette Haas secured approval for Tough Stuff Recycling's new $40-per-unit rate, up from $33, and reported that the North Egremont Firehouse garage presents hazards including poor lighting and safety concerns with its entry ramp. The Board rejected a proposal to collect redeemable bottles and cans at the transfer station for Blue Rider Stables, citing legal restrictions.

Additionally, the Board approved three interdepartmental fund transfers totaling $10,600 and approved most annual reappointments, though it left the Emergency Management Director position open and requested Web Administrator Mary McGurn submit detailed job duties by June 30th to adjust hours within her $32,000 budget allocation after July 1st.
