Select Board sets wage increases, trims Emergency Management stipend

Egremont Select Board approves fiscal 2027 wage structure with performance tiers. Employees rated 3.5 to 4.0 on evaluations will receive 1.5 percent raises atop a 2.8 percent cost-of-living adjustment; those rated 3.0 to 3.49 receive 1 percent. Chair Lucinda Fenn-Vermeulen and Finance Committee Chair Tom Berkel joined Personnel Director Cara Becker in discussing pending departmental requests: a six-hour Council on Aging position and a fifth Police Department slot, which will be submitted as a warrant article.
The board voted unanimously to cut the Emergency Management Director stipend from $2,820 to $2,000.
